Language Slowly Picks Up

Harold’s language skills are slowly picking up. These days, when I’m heading out the door to work, saying Bye to everyone, he is able to wave and say Bye right back to me. It’s very well enunciated, though still in his very baby voice.
n
nHe’s coming along in his verbal skills. Once in a while, he will make some noises that sound like a complete sentence or question, but he won’t repeat it, and it leaves me scratching my head if he really said it, or did I just interpret it that way.
n
nRita says that he does have his own vocabulary now, though most of them are just sounds, like incomplete words, which he consistently uses for certain objects. One notable example is “daw” for dog.
n
nHe’s also very good with “I don’t want that”. He got a lot of coaching on that recently, to my dismay. He also is more fond of saying No than Yes. In fact, I’m not sure if he has ever said Yes, or Yeah. His positive responses are usually communicated with his extended hand.
n
nHis second birthday’s not too far off, he’s making progress, all is good!
