On to 2013

Looking outside, it’s chilly, a sparkling film of frozen frost draped over the neighborhood. And though the calendar tells of a new year, looking around, it appears pretty much the same as the one that just passed. The only difference is really what we make of it.<br />n<br />nWe here at JaworskiHouse had no plans for the turn of the year, didn’t work hard at making any. Not easy to do since most events are all about the party and staying up til midnight, a couple of things that don’t go well with nine and especially four year olds. And their tired parents. What we DID do was we had a our tradition of fondue for dinner, microwaved gooey cheese with lots of things to dip into it, like bread, apples, salami, and more. It’s fun poking the dippins with the slim wooden spear then trying to get a good helping of cheese on it. Later, we streamed the dropping of the ball from the web at 9PM PST, close enough. And stayed up with Penny and Harold until the late hour of 10:30. Yes, that’s late, especially for the both of them.<br />n<br />n<a href=”http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaworskihouse/8338157833/” title=”New Years Eve 2013, on Flickr”><img src=”https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8075/8338157833_14d6826a56_n.jpg” width=”320″ height=”213″ alt=”New Years Eve 2013″></a><br />nHarold was in good form all evening. We pulled down the New Years box from the attic which contained a couple of blue hats with sparkly HNY writing on the front. One for him, one for me, and then we became Partners, me and him. He reminded me of it every couple of minutes, and I agreed eagerly every time. There were even a couple of small paper plates, the same shade of blue, that came out of the box. Harold had the idea that these here two partners should be eating the same thing from those plates. So, it being a few hours after dinner, he requested a couple of drinking yogurts from the fridge, which we put back in short order. We are Partners!<br />n<br />nNow to get back to catch up on all the things that didn’t get done in 2012. Long list, better get busy!
