Many, most people I work with live far from their family they grew up with. Maybe it makes for them not having to deal with extended issues like this.
Today, I went with my mom to take her dog to the vet. We learned her dog, 17 yrs old, was having kidney failure. Doc gives her maybe a month.
It's been over 8 yrs since I had to say goodbye to my Tasha dog. Still miss her.
Now we need to get grandma's head around the coming weeks.
UPDATE: Sad to report that things would not have gotten better, and the girl dog was just getting worse. Grandma made the decision and on Saturday, 22 Sept, her dog, who she had for 15 years, was let go.
