Harold really wanted some new white wall sneakers that have Lightening McQueen on the side. The store did not have his size "10" they only had a size "12". He had to have them... so he tossed them in the cart.
We had a good conversation about not running in them and he should take them off to go to the playground at school. All week he's been really good about following the rules.
Today... Daddy picked Harold up at school and they had a foot race to the car. Harold biffed it in the parking lot while wearing his new White Wall Sneakers.
He has a respectable gash or two on his left shoulder and scraped up his right knee. No doubt he was running full throttle when he landed.
I patched him up when he got home. We really need to buy stock in Band Aids & NeoSporin
I got an email from Wayne LaPierre from the National Rifle Association today. Here's the beginning of the mail.
Really? The NRA and I have suffered "blistering and brutal attacks" lately? Then how do you describe it if someone takes an AR-15 BushMaster assault rifle to your first grader?
BTW, Wayne, I saw snippets of your speech to congress yesterday. It was fun to see you basically say that you don't trust the police chief that was sitting down the row from you. But don't those same gun manufacturers that you represent also supply firearms to those cops you don't trust?
Is that just the coolest picture or what? I tell Penny that I want to see more and more of this kind of behavior as it will benefit her for years and years to come, the rest of her life, in fact.
In this photo, you see Penny at the King Library in San Jose, in the kids area, doing research on her fourth grade report on California missions. She was lucky enough to get Mission San Jose in Fremont, California, on which to base her report. The next day we visited the mission first hand, which really helped her gather research information for her report.
The project is due in mid-February, so we are getting her to spend much of her weekends to work on it. Once it's complete, graded and returned, we may post it here!
Penny, I'm lovin' this (non-posed) picture of you!
