I truly understand and appreciate the benefits of loading the content of your website from various other sources across the net. I really do! In fact, I do it myself with the website for the nonprofit I run, the SJAA. But is this the fact that many websites take so long to load these days? Are the days of the slow browser over, and n ow it's a matter of how quickly all the dozens of other sites you depend on can load their content at your site's beck and call?
Kinda seems like it.
If we're going to depend on other sites' performance, should there be an SLA in place to guarantee that the content will be delivered within a certain time period? Does that even exist in the world of web ops? And if so, I wonder what it would look like.
