Harold really wanted some new white wall sneakers that have Lightening McQueen on the side. The store did not have his size "10" they only had a size "12". He had to have them... so he tossed them in the cart.
We had a good conversation about not running in them and he should take them off to go to the playground at school. All week he's been really good about following the rules.
Today... Daddy picked Harold up at school and they had a foot race to the car. Harold biffed it in the parking lot while wearing his new White Wall Sneakers.
He has a respectable gash or two on his left shoulder and scraped up his right knee. No doubt he was running full throttle when he landed.
I patched him up when he got home. We really need to buy stock in Band Aids & NeoSporin
This morning in an attempt to pull out his Little People's Airplane from under his bed. The wheel was caught and he pulled so hard he lost his grip and fell backward landing on another toy that scratched his thigh.
Penny was in the bathtub and was adamant about wanting the bathroom door kept open.
Harold thought it would be fun to make her yell and tease her. So, he went to the pocket door and closed it, sister yelled and the game continued.
As I am telling him to leave the door open (I open it to stop sister from yelling). Harold now feels he needs to be sneaky to close the door. He holds the door frame and grabs the pocket door again, then he grabs the door and throws it open right on to his thumb.
At first it didn't seem so bad.. but the next day came the very bloody nail.
The Doctor drilled a hole in the top of his nail to release the pressure and to allow the blood to drain. She also prescribed an antibiotic to fight off any possible infection.
We were sitting down having dinner when we heard a blood curdling scream from the family room.
We ran in to see Harold with blood all over himself and the floor. Upon closer inspection he cut his chin wide open. Off to the ER we go.
When we get there he's calmed way down and the bleeding has slowed. After 5 stiches and 2.5 hours we are released.
It appears that he was balancing himself over the piano bench and the arm of the couch. He over rotated and his face plunged directly to the hardwood floor below. His chin took the impact, viola a 1.5 inch gash.
